Silvia Garcia is vice president of Media Planning and Multiplatform Strategy at Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In her role, she is responsible for driving media planning across UCI’s on-air platforms on broadcast and cable.

Since joining Univision in 2012, Silvia has built a media planning division that centralized and unified corporate and content priorities as well as strategy across multiple platforms.

Prior to UCI, Silvia worked for Discovery Communications Inc. where she spent 15 years holding several positions within the Operations, Promotions and Media Planning and Strategy teams.

A media executive with 22 years of result-driven performance at leading media cable and broadcast companies, Silvia began her career at Viacom with MTV Latin America in 1994 where she worked within multiple divisions including programming and on-air promotions.

Her expertise includes building high-performing media planning teams, launching multiplatform 360 campaigns, network launches, operational efficiency, break architecture and performance measurement.

Her passion also revolves around growth development and mentoring, and she is an active member of Univision’s Women’s Leadership Council and sits on the board of Women in Cable South Florida chapter.
